Seminole Recycles
Where can I recycle?
The City of Seminole offers all of its residents curbside recycling through Waste Management at no additional cost to the resident.
To request a curbside recycling bin, you may either call Public Works at (727) 397-6383 ext.3 or send email to cculp@myseminole.com Please include your address in the email.
What can I recycle curbside?
Aluminum Cans – Any aluminum can such as soda or beer. Empty, rinse and crush.
Cardboard – Clean, empty, dry corrugated (3-layer) cardboard boxes or packaging. Please flatten boxes. Pizza boxes okay if no food or grease. If the bottom is greasy, tear it off and recycle the clean lid only.
Glass Bottles and Jars – Any glass jar or bottle (all colors) such as wine bottles or pickle jars. Labels okay. No caps or lids. Empty and rinse.
Milk and Juice Cartons – Any gable-top beverage container such as milk, orange juice or single serve juice boxes (no straws). Empty, rinse and crush.
Mixed Paper – Any clean, dry paper that tears such as magazines, catalogs, junk mail, cereal boxes, empty paper towel rolls or soda cartons. No paper towels or tissues.
Newspapers – Dry, clean newspapers and inserts. No string or twine.
Phone Books – Recycle with mixed paper. Remove plastic wrap, bag and magnets.
Plastic Bottles – Any empty plastic bottle with a “neck” opening smaller than the base, such as water, milk, soda, ketchup, salad dressing, shampoo, mouthwash or detergent bottles.
Labels okay.Empty, rinse and crush. No tubs, pump spray tops or plastic bags.
Caps are okay but remove from the bottle first (this allows liquid to evaporate); put cap and bottle in the bin.
Steel (Tin) Cans – Any steel (tin) can such as pet food cans, soup cans or aerosol cans.
Labels and lids okay. Empty and rinse. No paint cans.

What if I am not a City of Seminole resident? Can I still recycle?
Yes, you may take your recyclables to a Pinellas County Recycling drop-off site.

I see that Pinellas County recycling drop off locations do not accept glass. Where can I recycle glass?
You may drop off empty glass bottles and jars at Target stores. The Target stores located at Largo Mall, 10500 Ulmerton Rd and Park St/Tyrone Blvd, 4450 Park St N, have recycling bins located inside near the registers.

How do I dispose of electronics and/or chemicals?
You may either drop items off at the Pinellas County Household Electronics & Chemical Collection Center located at 2855 109th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33716; or visit a Pinellas County Mobile Collection Event.

How to I dispose of Grease / Cooking Oil / Vegetable Oil?
Residents may dispose of small amounts of grease or oil products in the trash.
Do not dispose of down the sink!
You may pour hot grease or oil into a container such as an empty soup can. When grease has cooled, place the container into the regular trash.
Residents may also drop off liquid cooking oil (no solids) at a recycling drop off center to be recycled into biodiesel fuel for trucks. The Oakhurst Water Tower Recycling drop off site located at 113th Lane and 74th Ave has a disposal container on site for grease and cooking oil.
